I’m Back!

So, I apologize sincerely for my lack of posting in the last 2 years… I have had a roller coaster wave of life lately, and finally feel like i’m ready to get back to blogging. I have so much to share with everyone on Olivia & Blaine, and I can’t wait to tell everyone who reads my blog! So lets kick start Summer 2014 with a whole new side of myself!

a new start

lately, i’ve been feeling sluggish, and unmotivated to accomplish things. being out of school has really put a damper on trying to be active. though, today i’m off to play my first game of soccer as a player of the women’s league, and i’ve decided that i’m going to kick start a healthy track by eating healthy. below i’ve put together some meals that i’m very interested to try myself, that are not only healthy but can also potentially boost you metabolism, how awesome right!?

APPLE & ALMOND ENGLISH MUFFIN

take a whole wheat english muffin & toast the english muffin (optional). on one half of the english muffin, spread on a thin layer of almond butter. taking half of an apple of your choice, thinly slice the apple and place on to of the almond butter. sprinkle cinnamin on top of the apples, and top with the other half of the muffin.

MID-SUMMER CUCUMBER SALAD

peel,chop & deseed, 3 cucumbers into bit size pieces & toss with 1tbsp of kosher salt. finely dice one red onion. cut in half, 20 cherry tomatoes. dice into bite size pieces, 1 avocado. finely dice cilantro to your likings.dressing: combine together 1/4 cup white wine vinegar, 1 tbsp honey, 2 tsp minced shallots, 1/2 tsp dijon mustard, 1/4 tsp minced garlic, 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil, and salt & pepper, into a food processor, slowly adding the olive oil until smooth. salt and pepper to taste. toss everything together in a bowl, and add dressing to taste.

last day of high school

today was my last day of high school, and I decided to keep my look casual. we received our yearbooks, and a portfolio of photos of our grad class. tomorrow, unfortunately, i’ve got a biology exam to write, and thursday a math exam. so technically i’m not completely done, but almost there!

Today I woke up in a “fashion kind of” mood. So, what happened? I changed my outfit approximately 8 times before I chose this one.

hair care

Over the past 6 months, I have been dying my hair back to blonde. In doing so, my hair has become extremely damaged, and now it’s time for me to repair. Now, within the last few months, i’ve been using this routine every time I shower/wash my hair, and so far I have been seeing a huge difference in the texture and smoothness of my hair. Fall out is still high at this point, but it’s something I have come to terms with that, since I bleach my hair, it’s going to happen. So, here are the steps I take! (WARNING: I HAVE NO MAKEUP ON & MY HANDS ARE WRINKLY FROM BEING IN THE SHOWER TO LONG… OPPS!)

1. FRESHLY WASHED HAIR, SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER (ONLY ON THE MID SECTION DOWN TO THE ENDS.)

2. USING MY BAMBOO KENDI OIL, I PUT A LOONIE SIZE INTO THE PALM OF MY HAND AND MERGE IT INTO MY HAIR FROM THE MID SECTION OF MY HAIR DOWN TO THE ENDS.

3. NEXT COMB THROUGH YOUR HAIR WITH A WIDE TOOTH COMB TO REDUCE BREAKAGE AND SPLIT ENDS (START FROM THE ENDS AND WORK YOUR WAY UP TO THE ROOTS)

4. NOW YOUR DONE

dance

It’s sunday afternoon and i’ve already started my day off by playing (and winning) my last soccer game of the season! I’m so happy for being able to play with such amazing girls, and being back on the team! Now, as I sit here watching last weeks episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, on every commercial, I pull up youtube, and watch previous solo’s from So You Think You Can Dance. Just watching these girls dance, makes me regret giving up my 13 years of dance training. Yes, I miss not dancing anymore, but these solo’s make me want to start back up again, and maybe I will! Here are some video’s that have inspired me to want to start up again!

well that’s that I guess!

Well we’re coming up to the last days of high school, and although it’s been a stressful past couple of weeks, this year has been a bumpy road. It will be weird to think that when we approach september, that I won’t be returning to school like I have for the past 13 years… mind boggling confusion of where the next starting point in my life will be, is a coping mechanism that i’ll soon have to come to terms with. my life & INSTAGRAM!

Recently I have been lacking on posting through Olivia & Blaine, and I deeply apologize! I hope to start posting more frequent once i’m done school, which isn’t for another 2 weeks or so, but I will try to post through the next couple weeks as best as I can. Now, I frequently post onto instagram like it’s my second child.. (no I do not have a first, so I guess that statement doesn’t really apply here, but we’ll make it work) So follow me on my instagram @amandaawallace to keep updated with my everyday life! so far, it’s been pretty exciting.. well at least I think so =D

Friday was the big day! I can’t believe it is been 5 years of high school gone, but the memories that were made will last forever in our hearts. Thursday, we bussed up for our last bus ride of our highschool days, and headed down to where our ceremony is to be held for a rehersal on the line up. But, the most exciting of all was when we went down to the court house stairs and took our photo for the graduation class of 2012. Friday, we got all dolled up for the real deal, took photos with our dates and friends in the park, and headed down to the ceremony to walk across the stage and receive our diploma. Time has flown by, but I will always remeber grade 11 french when I met my best friends who will forever be in my heart! Love you girls!

graduation part 1

It’s almost here, just two weeks away! My graduation is approaching and I am ever so excited! I get to officially live the day that has been in the back of my mind for years. Also, being able to experience my graduation day with all my closet friends, and attend with an amazing friend, is a all I ever wanted!

I decided that since it’s a monday, and there is t-minus 11 days till graduation, here are some sneak previews of my dress!
